The idea about forming Swedish progressive/metal attraction, Soen, was born in 2004, but the final product as a super group came out on the light of the day in 2010. The original lineup consisted of mastermind and drummer Martin López (who played with Opeth between 1997 and 2006 and recorded six albums, including the best releases of the band “Still Life”, “Blackwater Park” and “Damnation”, and with Amon Amarth the cult debut “Once Sent from the Golden Hall”, bassist Steve Di Giorgio (ex-Death, Testament, Sadus), singer Joel Ekelöf (Willowtree) and guitarist Joakim Platbarzdis and in that line-up, the debut album “Cognitive” was released for Spinefarm (2012). It received good reviews but also critics that they sound like Tool. After that album, Soen released five more albums in a period from 2014 to 2024. The last album “Memorial” was released via Nuclear Blast. Martin López describes the music as melodic, heavy, intricate and very different from everything else that you hear. In addition to López and Ekelöf, the band today consists of guitarist/keyboardist Lars Enok Åhlund, guitarist Cody Lee Ford and bassist Oleksii “Zlatoyar” Kobel. Soen’s Memorial Tour will include concert in Novi Sad, Serbia, on October 15th.

Very important information for the fans: the concert will be moved to new SKCNS building (Vladimira Perića Valtera 5).
