The long-awaited concert of the best European Queen tribute band, which is hidden behind the name Queen Sensation, will take place on Saturday, April 12th at Boogaloo, Zagreb. DJ Krnyja will be in charge of the good atmosphere before and after the concert. Early bird tickets can be purchased for 15 euros. Pre-sale tickets for 18 euros can be purchased through the Entrio system and at their points of sale, and at the door on the day of the show they will cost 20 euros.
Originally called Queen Real Tribute, the band was founded in 2007 and consists of professional musicians who have played with the biggest and most famous stars of the former Yugoslavian region. As big fans of Queen, they started playing Queen songs to preserve the memory of one of the greatest rock bands of all time and their singer Freddie Mercury. From the very beginning until today, this band has achieved fantastic success.
First they established themselves in Europe, then they set off to distant Brazil, where they played 70 concerts within four major tours. In the summer of 2012, they played in Belgrade in front of an incredible 60,000 people. The band rose to a new level when they put on a show called “Queen Symphony by Real Tribute” with a lineup consisting of a symphony orchestra with 42 instruments and a choir of 16 people. The production was a huge success, and after sold-out musical and stage spectacles in Belgrade and Zagreb, they continued to perform in North Macedonia, Montenegro and other countries in the region, and in 2018, the band toured the Far East, specifically in China, where they gained a large number of fans. The next big success was their first performance in Russia, where the last tour took place in December 2019 with symphony orchestras from Moscow and Vladivostok, and they also performed in South Korea.
Five years ago, the group did a unique idea: 68 concerts in 68 days in 68 different cities in Austria and Germany as part of the tour “The Spirit of Freddie Mercury”! No other tribute group has ever achieved anything like this. After a full 16 years performances as Queen Real Tribute, in April 2023 the group decides to change name in Queen Sensation, explaining the decision with an official statement:
“Our decision to rename the band to Queen Sensation as the name stems from the simple fact that our art and entertainment form have little in common with the word “tribute”… We actually were never just a tribute band, and that doesn’t even translate into what we stand for. Over the years, our stage performance has developed into its own being, where what is real we invest, it cannot be classified as a mere reproduction of Queen songs, as they do or are others did. In our humble collective mind, our goal is to represent the evolution and improvement of what Freddie, Brian, Roger and John would have stood for today. Long live Queen! Many more plans and much more Queen music for all fans of this iconic band. We can’t wait to see you at our concerts! Because THE SHOW MUST GO ON!”
