Almost a year on from the release of their debut album, Michigan’s Hellish Torment have shared a new music video for one of the record’s most uncompromising tracks, “Raped By God”. Known for not pulling any punches, the band digs deeper into uncomfortable territory with this release, presenting a disturbing take on the story of the Virgin Mary, reframed in a modern political context.
The video opens with an audio clip from former FLDS cult leader Warren Jeffs, setting a dark and uneasy tone that mirrors the song’s themes. Recorded at Red Wolf Studio in Grand Rapids by CJ Gardineer, the track carries the band’s signature sound – cold, aggressive and steeped in black metal tradition—while confronting ideas that most wouldn’t dare touch.
