World-renowned virtuoso Dhafer Youssef is preparing a spectacle this Tuesday at Lisinski!
The announcement that Dhafer Youssef will finally appear in Zagreb has caused enthusiasm among numerous fans of this world-renowned Tunisian virtuoso. Tuesday, February 11th, 2025 has been a long awaited date so that we can finally enjoy the bravura of this master who, playing the oud, with an exceptional vocal range, connects the seemingly incompatible on all parallels and meridians. In his music, everyone can find something for themselves: from jazz and electronics to traditional Arabic music. The most recent album that he will promote on this occasion, “Streets of Minarets”, has been brilliantly received by both critics and the audience, and when you know that greats such as Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, Dave Holland played on it – there is no doubt that this kind of concert is not to be missed.
Tickets priced at 39, 44 and 49 euros can be purchased online via the CoreEvent system and at their physical presale points.

20:00 Dhafer Youssef
For artists like Dhafer Youssef, there is never a standstill, and a new album is already in the progress.
“I play live with young but excellent musicians who have perfectly fit into this material and accepted it as their own. We work so well that in this band, with which I will perform in Zagreb, we will record a new album that will be a continuation of “Streets Of Minarets”; in a way, and it should be released by the end of the year.”
There is another interesting fact. Although he has lived on European soil for more than half of his life, the domestic audience has not had the opportunity to hear him live:
“I have never performed in Croatia until this February. I lived and studied in Vienna, I was very close to Croatia, but I have never had the opportunity to perform here and that is why I am looking forward to this concert even more”,
said Youssef.
His music is mystical, meditative and powerfully emotional, which is why he is considered one of the most important contemporary artists who connect traditional and modern music: avant-garde, rich in emotions and mystical sounds. His collaborations combine different musical traditions, from jazz and Sufi music to Indian classical music and electronics. In addition to the above-mentioned artists of world renown, it is certainly worth highlighting his collaborations with Armenian pianist Tigran Hamasyan, Norwegian jazz guitarist Eivind Aarset or American drummer Vinnie Colaiut, who played with Frank Zappa and Sting. His impressive oeuvre has earned him, among others, the BBC World Music Award in 2006 and the Edison Award in 2017, as well as praise from publications such as The Guardian, The Times, The Evening Standard, Downbeat Magazine and Jazzwise. He also participated in the UNESCO All-Star Global Concert in 2015, which only confirms his global recognition. He has also left his mark in the world of film music, working with names such as Ridley Scott, James Horner and Dave McKean. He is one of the ambassadors of the world-famous Music Traveler organization, alongside Billy Joel, Hans Zimmer, John Malkovich, Sean Lennon, Adrien Brody and others. It is a sin to miss concerts by artists such as Dhafer Youssef, as each of them is a unique and unrepeatable experience.
