Caressing Misery, a new force in the gothic music scene and the latest signing to The Circle Music, have released their first single, “A Thousand Seasons”. “A Thousand Seasons” is a guitar-driven gothic earworm featuring the exceptional vocals of Mariangela Demurtas (ex-Tristania) with infectious melodies and unforgettable hooks. The song showcases the band’s ability to create emotionally charged music that would resonate with fans of iconic acts like The 69 Eyes, Sentenced, Paradise Lost, Entwine, Lacrimas Profundere, and For My Pain.

Caressing Misery’s debut album, “Lost and Serene”, is a sonic journey through themes of sadness, hope, light and shadow, relationships, love, and a profound connection to nature. The album features mesmerising artwork that perfectly captures the essence of their music, along with soaring guitars, thunderous drums, and a knack for crafting catchy melodies.

Caressing Misery have a special ability to evoke a range of emotions through their music. With “Lost and Serene” the band showcases their talent for crafting atmospheric soundscapes that resonate with those who appreciate the beauty found within darkness.

Caressing Misery was formed in 2021 when Julian Aust (The Shallow Graves) and Zac Campbell (The Waning Moon, The Kentucky Vampires) discovered a shared passion for late 90s goth rock/metal. Despite being separated by around 7500km, they collaborated remotely from different continents to create eight tracks that blend deep, charismatic vocals with haunting melodies and a nostalgic vibe reminiscent of bands like The 69 Eyes and Paradise Lost.

To elevate their sound further, Caressing Misery enlisted the talents of Hendrik Müller (Halphas, Timor et Tremor) and Mariangela Demurtas (Ardours, ex-Tristania) as guest vocalists. “Lost and Serene” was produced and mastered by Markus Stock at Klangschmiedestudio E. The band’s visuals were brought to life by Billy Phobia and Anna Apostata Arts.
