Working their way up to a debut album, Paris-based progressive metal act Ashen reveal new single and music video “Crystal Tears” via Out Of Line Music.
“Crystal Tears” is a deeply personal track and yet another display of the band’s stunningly unique heavy sound. Accompanied by a new music video, the song dives into the complexities of love, trauma and the inevitable grief of watching someone change beyond recognition.
Vocalist Clem shares his personal inspiration behind the song:
“In this track, I dive into a past relationship that was shaken by the traumas we experienced together and separately. I explore what remains of him, of us, despite everything we went through together. There’s a visceral desire within us to help the other, clinging to the hope that they will stay the same. But ultimately, we come to realize that we must grieve the person they once were. It is this fight to save the other that ultimately becomes the very reason for the destruction of the bond that united us.”
Ashen has built a reputation for crafting dark, cinematic soundscapes that reflect personal struggles and the anxieties of modern life. With “Crystal Tears”, the band continues to push the boundaries of emotional expression through music, solidifying their place as one of the most compelling voices in the alternative scene.
