“Returning to what we consider the essence of our band, with a partially new line-up, it was an extraordinary experience. It gave us the opportunity to review and evaluate again what we have built from a new and exciting perspective. This resulted in a focused and an intense period of writing in which we rediscovered certain aspects of ourselves music and developed them further than ever before. Joakim Strandberg Nilson surpassed everyone expectations when it comes to drums, while Christian Jansson excelled fiercely and precisely. This made the writing and recording process challenging, different and inspiring the best possible way”,
said Dark Tranquility about the new album.
Dark Tranquility is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg. They are considered one of the pioneers of the so-called Gothenburg metal scene, together with bands like In Flames and At the Gates. You can learn more about it in the documentary Out of Nothing: A DT Documentary, published by Century Media and filmed in their hometown in April 2009. The band was founded in 1989 by the then guitarist, a current vocalist Mikael Stanne and guitarist Niklas Sundin, under the name Septic Broiler. In the early stages of their creation, their sound had a strong thrash undertone, which many compared to the early works of Death. At that time, Anders Fridén joined the band, with whom they recorded their debut album “Skydancer”. Since then, the band has released 12 more albums. Their latest, “Endtime Signals”, was released in in August 2024 for Century Media, and will promote it on this occasion in Hangar. This album features bassist Christian Jansson and a drummer for the first time Joakim Strandberg Nilsson, while all the lyrics were written by vocalist Mikael Stanne. The band line up includes Johan Reinholdz on guitar and Martin Brändström on keyboards.
Moonspell was founded in 1992 in the suburbs of Lisbon and became one of the the most recognizable names of European metal. Portuguese gothic metal visionaries introduced themselves to the world with the underground EP “Under the Moonspell” and the legendary debut for Century Media, with the album “Wolfheart” from 1995. Their next album, “Irreligious” (1996), raised the band to a higher level of global recognition. Since then, Moonspell has not stopped touring and creating new music, maintaining a loyal base fans on all five continents. In 2021, they released their 12th album, “Hermitage”, which were declared by critics and audiences as one of the best albums of that year. The band today consists of: Fernando Ribeiro (vocals), Pedro Paixão (keyboards, guitar), Ricardo Amorim (guitar, backing vocals), Aires Pereira (bass) and Hugo Ribeiro (drums).
Hiraes is a German melodic death metal band from Osnabrück, founded in 2020. Band consists of former members of Dawn of Disease and Britta Görtz, former singer of Critical Mess.
