Hot on the heels of their last single “(My) Death Song” in February, the UK dark synth band Massive Ego release their latest high-octane cut “Hit The Kerb Running” from their forthcoming eclectic long-player. Driving headlong at high speed into an anarchic, dark-wave, post-punk fused commentary on facing life’s challenges head-on, crashing and colliding, hitting the kerb, but confident you can find the strength to keep on running past life’s hurdles, and taking the right road to win.
Massive Ego understand the challenges of surviving in an ever-changing musical landscape, as 2026 will see them reach their 30-year milestone. In 2025, Massive Ego are back for good and working their way towards a new full-length album. The band will perform at Germany’s biggest dark scene festival, M’era Luna, 9-10th August 2025, as well as Hellsinki Industrial Festival, 6-8th November 2025.
“too fast to live
we’re too young to die“
A slogan that was emblazoned across the chests of a generation of disenfranchised youth under the banner of punk. Worn as a badge of honour, born out of an anti-establishment manifesto. This song embodies the spirit of 1976 punk in attitude, dark in its leanings, but as ever, a positive spin on adversity. Its message, you may hit that wall hard, but pick yourself up and keep running.
The new single “Hit The Kerb Running” features two dance floor-ready remixes with the harder clubs catered for by Germany’s XTR Human, and the Portuguese duo IAMTHESHADOW bring a vocal-led dark remix.
Known for their striking videos, the accompanying visuals reflect the track perfectly, with fast cuts and quick edits that add to a heightened sense of running into and away from danger, represented by the colour red throughout.
