The Red Crow, a stoner metal band originally from Porto Alegre, Brazil, released their debut album “Spellbound” in January 2025. Formed in 2013, the band quickly gained recognition in the Brazilian stoner metal scene with their blend of heavy riffs, hypnotic grooves, and psychedelic undertones. After founder Christiano Vieira relocated to Portugal in 2022, The Red Crow reformed under its current name and has since performed over 30 shows across Portugal, building a dedicated fan base.

“Spellbound” dives deep into existential dread and cosmic horror, using zombies, aliens, and demons as metaphors for the struggles of existence. The album’s heavy, fuzz-drenched production, monolithic basslines, and ritualistic drum patterns channel influences from doom, sludge, and psychedelic rock while maintaining a raw energy reminiscent of bands like Red Fang, Wolfmother and Queens of the Stone Age.

The album reflects a sonic evolution for The Red Crow, blending dark lyrical themes of madness and isolation with groovy rhythms and layered atmospheres. With “Spellbound”, the band cements their place in the underground alternative scene, delivering an album that is as intense as it is hypnotic. The Red Crow is set to embark on a European tour in 2025, bringing their immersive sound to a wider audience.
