Finnish melodic metal heroes Arion have arrived to stir up the scene with their refreshing new album “The Light That Burns The Sky”, which is out now through Reigning Phoenix Music (Finland: Ranka Kustannus; Japan: Avalon Label / Marquee Inc.). After kicking off a supporting co-headline tour through Germany and Switzerland with label mates Brainstorm last night, the five-piece have released a music video for the song “Burning In The Skies”, which is also a part of their much-anticipated new offering. The new video track summarises the essence of Arion and thereby also is a splendid introduction to new followers of the group: musically wonderfully pushing forward by thunderous drumming, harsh riffs and significant keyboard tunes, the song tells a fictional story which still has a contemporary connection fans can related to and is interpreted by lead vocalist Lassi’s captivating vocals.

Songwriter/guitarist Iivo Kaipainen comments:

“A beautiful melody and a beautiful lyrical theme wrapped in a tough metal coating, ‘Burning In The Skies’ is a catchy, melodic take from our brand new album “The Light That Burns The Sky.” I initially struggled with this song a lot and basically rewrote almost all of it during the last moments before entering the studio. I kept the vocal melodies from my first draft, re-arranged them a bit and then – after finding the steamrolling signature riff – I kept it simple knowing that this song would basically write itself from there. The last and most important piece of the puzzle was me coming up with the heartbreaking yet fictional story of the lyrics, inspired by International Women’s Day, and a melodic guitar solo to match the sadness of the story.”
