Release date: December 12th, 2024
My first review this year, at least the one which I write, is about the ensemble coming from my home-city. If you’re read my scribble for a long time, you know both the name and music of the band very well, which makes you know what to expect from “Revolution”. Those of you who’re new here and would like to get to know something about Bleeding Forrest itself, should check out a review of “Betrayers ov God”, where I wrote a few words about ensembles’ quite short history and so on. The main reason here is I’m just too lazy to write, even if the first time I did it a few months ago, one more time the same thing. That’s why the only let’s call it biographic information you’ll get in this review is that we can enjoy “Revolution” since December 12th, Guys, as always, released it independently and digitally. And where, on what platforms, you can find Bleeding Forest’s debut album? Well, you need to read my scribble and on the end of this shit there’s contact with the band.
Anyways, full-length contains eight song taking a little more (one second) than thirty-seven and a half minutes So, as you can see this trio don’t fuck around and run forward with their creativity. Of course the fact we haven’t here some developed instrumental displays or even guitar tricks doesn’t mean music isn’t interesting! The same is also about melody created of course by guitars, first of all. Yeah! Guys just continue their music smackdown. That’s absolutely not about biting light or even sound speed. So, you shouldn’t expect some blasts and so on. Those of you who were reading what I wrote about “Betrayers…”, know what kind of our beloved music residents of Bydgoszcz present, because they just continue what we were able to listen to on the demo. Of course, there are some differences. Well, actually I see only one – vocal. Raven, contrary to Morgoth who was a vocalist on “Betrayers…”, uses growling instead of clean singing. That’s why association with old-school death metal can cross your mind during the lecture of my scribble. But in my opinion, this is at least a bit of exaggeration. My association is also very old-school extreme metal, but not mentioned before. So, what sub-genre of our beloved music I mean? Well, I’ll tell you this a little later. Creativity of Bleeding Forest is generally in the middle tempo, from time to time in the middle-fast one. That’s also quite easy music. I mean, you shouldn’t expect some sophisticated as hell passage, complicated guitar tricks (including flageolets), and so on. Of course, there’s some solo here and there, but in general Raven, John and Dante just go forward without unnecessarily beatifications. At the same time, it’s pure pleasure to listen to “Revolution”. By the way, one glance at the cover art is enough to know what revolution inspired the guys to create their debut album. But let’s get back to the point. As I wrote before, Bleeding Forest plays not too complicated music. I heard such creativity really many times before, which absolutely doesn’t mean I won’t go back to this stuff as often as I can. That’s even contrary and reason is something that’s very hard or even impossible to describe in words, namely Metal Spirit. Enthusiasm emanates from every entire sound and this is what our beloved music is about!
I’m well aware both of the fact that I’m probably not fully objective, despite all efforts, writing this review as well as from a purely musical point of view this stuff has some shortcomings. But hey (and that’s dedicated to individuals, who didn’t read my scribble about “Betrayers…”, because as I remember I wrote exactly the same sentence over there)! Ensemble’s musicians are still teenagers, which means they don’t have huge experience when it comes to playing their instruments. Oh… I almost forgot to tell you two quite important, as I suppose, things. “Revolution” is, like a demo, released independently by the band and is available only in digital version. Hopefully it’ll change some day, because this is a really tasty piece of thrash/black metal in its old-school, quite obscure form!
