I thought I would never see the second part of this fenomenal Finish comedy by writers and directors Juuso Laatio and Jukka Vidgren. Our heroes, a band Impaled Rektum are in Norwegian prison for the problems they caused in the previous part called Heavy trip. They will again do something and make themselves the most dangerous band in the world. Their trip becomes heavier. The list of things a band will do to get an opportunity to perform is long, so our four Impalers will go through torns for it and make a  pact  with the Devil Fisto… Literally.

Everyone who didn’t watch this but you are a fan of Deathgasm more, shame on you. Finnish language, storyline, four main characters, one more funnier than other  are enough reasons to make this movie a great comedy. Of course like every movie whose first part was so popular and really got good reviews in the world among metalheads, this time much richer production and ’big bucks’ to finish the story. Impaled Rektum traveled  to Wacken Open Air festival, met Baby metal band in Rocstock, Vilnius, got Lemmy’s famous hat (probably Lemmy gave it to them over Fisto because surely he is in hell) and even met the real devil personally. A dream of every metal band ever, right? Of course, part with Babymetal doesn’t count. Not just a set is richer but the photography, costumes and real musicians who took their part in the movie were really serious. Bands like Year of Goat and part of Eyes 69 participated. There is not much to talk about the evolution of the characters because on purpose they remained the same old province of unsecured metalheads except Turo (Johhannes Holopainen) who doesn’t  vomit anymore when  he gets on the stage. The story is happening in a few countries: Norway, Lithuania, Finland, Germany and it’s so surreal that it can’t be told in one review. But there is no need, everyone should watch this movie, especially the bends in Serbia who consider themselves as gods after a few gigs in clubs in Belgrade and after that they vanish from the scene. This band gave their freedom for the gig. Damn legends! Every stereotypical presentation of metalheads here is really smart. Not to be really obvious but also to be funny to watch and understand. Typical metal band named even more typical with the most typical members ever. Xytrax (Max Ovaska), a bass player, my favorite character who reminds me of myself when I give cruel judgment sometimes on someone’s music really made me laugh. A bit metal elitis, a big fan of pure underground Xytrax is actually a true metalhead in the  heart and head. We would be really good friends. Nothing can stop this man to be himself, not even an offer to  play on Wacken Open Air. Love ya Xytrax.

Relation with Goetes Devil Mephisto, or here in the movie known as Fisto is phenomenal. What are the chances to get to Germany in the biggest metal festival if there was no devil and contract with him? Not to discover much but not to talk about everything that was funny to me here if we take that on the side this movie is really inspiring. It’s inspiring specially to us who are from the small places and we know really good bands who can’t get on the map in the music industry because they or don’t have the bloody money or as Fisto said “People like sh*ty music” copy/paste rifs, always the same subject. I know that nothing like this can happen to anyone but let’s give a chance to Impaled Rektum and symphonic-postapocalyptic-reindeer-grinding-Christ-abusing-extreme war-pagan-fennoscandinavian metal.

Andjela Milunović born in Ivanjica, Serbia, 24 years old, currently senior medical student and amateur ethnologist. My love for metal music has lasted over a decade now, in late 2020 I was accepted in Abaddon magazine from Belgrade as a journalist, my journey with them still lasts and till now I reviewed many albums, books, movies and shows of foreign and Serbian metal bands and authors. Besides that our magazine is making live and written interviews with bands, I am proud the most of my interview with Estonian folk metal band Metsatoll in April 2024. My wish is to report from major metal festivals in Europe and World wide. Stay metal! 🤘
