Sarajevo will once again become the gathering place for metal music fans from across the region and beyond on April 18-19, 2025, when the third edition of the Eternal Flame Metal Festival takes place. The festival, which has quickly built its distinctive identity, continues to grow and become an essential event on the regional metal scene.
Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been chosen as the best destination in the world for 2025 by the readers of National Geographic magazine! As the city continues to grow in popularity, it solidifies its place as one of the top travel destinations in the world.
After officially receiving its name last year, the Eternal Flame Metal Festival symbolically carries the spirit of Sarajevo and the energy of metal music, creating a unique connection between cultural heritage and contemporary musical expression. This year’s edition promises to raise the bar even higher, delivering a two-day spectacle at the iconic Dom Mladih – long considered the heart of Sarajevo’s music scene.
The festival will feature 10 bands covering nearly all metal subgenres – from raw and extreme brutal death metal to atmospheric and melodic black metal, as well as classic heavy riffs defining heavy metal. Whether you’re a fan of old-school sounds, technical precision, or sheer brutal energy, Eternal Flame 2025 offers something for everyone.
This year’s lineup includes regional and international stars who will thrill the audience.
Confirmed Bands include:
Hetrem – A thrash/death metal powerhouse from Široki Brijeg, known for energetic performances and powerful albums, returns to shake up the Sarajevo crowd.
Lepra – One of the most renowned local thrash metal bands, proudly carrying the banner of Sarajevo’s metal scene for years.
My Last Suicide – Veterans of the Banja Luka metal scene bring their signature melodic death metal sound.
Izrod – A black metal supergroup from Sarajevo, part of the renowned Black Plague Circle, offering a unique and dark approach.
Casket – A German old school death metal band, capturing the hearts of old-school fans with brutal riffs and years of experience.
Moribund Oblivion – Turkey’s most famous black metal band, blending traditional, atmospheric, and oriental influences.
Death Valley Knights – A British heavy metal band inspired by the Warhammer universe.
Putridity – Italian brutal death metal legends, renowned for their intensely extreme live performances.
Sinister – Death metal icons with nearly four decades of experience, returning to Sarajevo after legendary past performances.
Pestilence – A legendary Dutch band fusing death metal with progressive elements. This will be their first performance in Bosnia and Herzegovina!
