As the release of their upcoming fourth album “The Grand Inferno” draws nearer, Swedish symphonic metallers Tungsten proudly present “Vantablack”, a new digital single accompanied by a music video. “Vantablack” is a hard-hitting, heavy track with a delicate touch of Nordic folk music, that also draws from the group’s industrial influences. With eight more infectious tracks waiting to be unveiled, “The Grand Inferno” will arrive on October 18th, 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM).

Guitarist Nick Johansson, who also filmed and directed the music video, says:

“‘Vantablack’ is actually our oldest song. It was originally written in 2016 under the moniker ‘Strokkur,’ the band name we had before changing it to Tungsten. A slightly different demo version of the song was recorded but never released. We wrote so many new songs for our debut album “We Will Rise,” so the song was simply forgotten until now.”

“A year ago we played the demo version of this song for Patrick, the president of our fan site on social media (‘Tungsten Fans Worldwide’) and he immediately insisted that we should do a proper recording of the song and include it on our next album. We loved the song ourselves, so we decided to do so as an homage to our friend who started the Tungsten fan site. Thanks to him lots of Tungsten friends have found each other around the world and started various Tungsten fan sites in lots of different countries”,

explains singer Mike Andersson.
