Canadian thrash metal veterans Aggression are proud to announce the release of their official video for “Queen Of The Damned”. Known for their relentless energy and uncompromising sound, Aggression returns to the forefront of the metal scene with this latest offering, capturing the essence of classic thrash metal with a modern twist.
Inspired by bands like Slayer, Dark Angel, and Kreator, Aggression has been a driving force in the thrash metal scene since their formation in Montreal, Quebec, in 1983. Originally known as Asylum and Adrenalin, the band solidified its identity as Aggression in 1985. Led by guitarists Denis “Sasquatch” Barthe and Bernard “Burn” Caudron, Aggression quickly gained traction with their aggressive riffs and commanding vocals.
Their journey through the metal underground led to invitations to contribute to metal compilations from New Renaissance Records, alongside acts like Flotsam and Jetsam, At War, Deathrash, Necrophagia, and Wehrmacht. Despite numerous complications, including delays in album releases, Aggression’s impact on the Quebec metal scene was undeniable.
With the release of their 1986 debut album “Forgotten Skeleton” and the 1987 follow-up “The Full Treatment”, Aggression received critical acclaim and established themselves as one of Quebec’s most popular metal acts. Their concerts sold out across the province, and they shared the stage with legendary acts like Anvil, Celtic Frost, Voivod, Nuclear Assault, and Dark Angel.
However, due to substance abuse and legal issues, Aggression disbanded in 1989, only to be resurrected in 2005 and permanently reformed in 2014 in Vancouver, British Columbia, with Denis “Sasquatch” Barthe leading the charge once again. Since then, Aggression has released several albums, including “Fragmented Spirit Devils,” “Feels Like Punk, Sounds Like Thrash,” and “From Hell With Hate.”
Now, armed with a new recording deal with Massacre Records, Aggression is gearing up for their upcoming album “Frozen Aggressors,” set to be released in December 2023. The band’s current lineup of Barthe (vocals, guitar), Dave “Watts” Watson (guitar), Kyle “Viking” Hagen (vocals, bass), and Ryan “Quatchi” Idris (drums) is the strongest yet, and they’re ready to take the world by storm.
“Queen Of The Damned” is a testament to Aggression’s enduring legacy in the metal scene and their commitment to delivering uncompromising thrash metal.
