Label: Self released

Date: January 27th, 2022

I thought I made myself clear in that column I wrote a while back. As a matter of fact, the text still stands on our webpage. But I guess somebody doesn’t care about checking out the magazine they are submitting their material to. Which is fine, it’s not necessary or mandatory.

The bigger problem is that somebody doesn’t quite care about the band they are playing in, composing music for or trying to promote.

You know, I wrote that column after receiving the message on our Facebook page that literally read: “Hey, check out my band”. With the link to Bandcamp included. This time all I got was the link. No “hello”, “hey”, “how are you”… Whatever. Just the link and nothing but the link.

So, I thought about it for a short while. If the column didn’t succeed, perhaps this one will. Perhaps people are more interested in reading reviews than columns. Thus, I’ve decided to break my promise that I will not review, or even consider reviewing such submissions.

However, out of pure respect for all the people out there who are actually using Abaddon Magazine e-mail, like we asked them to (it’s right there in the “about us” section of the website), and actually being capable of forming a regular text message within, presenting what’s at stake here, adding some photos, biographies, downloadable music (yes, none of that “you can listen to it twice and then you have to pay”) and all the other stuff a promotional e-mail must have, I’ve decided to waste just about the same amount of time on checking out the band as they did on submitting material for reviewing.

Actually, considering that I needed to browse about the internet a bit, to find out about who released this and the release date for the sake of the header to this text, I think I might have even doubled that time. And that’s even without counting the waste of time on writing this. But I hope our dear contributors will forgive me for that. Sorry guys and gals! We’re really working our asses off to cover as much as we humanly can.

Anyway, back to Fictio Solemnis.

The cover artwork is not that bad.

The end.

A musician by choice and a journalist by chance. However, much better at the latter one. Self taught reviewer for music and musical literature. Radio host when presented with an opportunity, video presenter when necessity calls for it. A future who-knows-what-else, since the curiosity and drive often surpass the possibilities and capability. But altogether a nice guy!
